Choosing Wisely

The large, over sized screen screams
from the corner...
feeds me morsels of gloom and doom from its kitchen where the morning offerings are cooked to a palatable tenderness.
a bowl of global sorrow on my china plate, stuffing me with dissension and sadness,
i become nauseated.......
Take my overfilled heart and stomach to just sit instead, for a silent moment,
partaking of God's generous morning offering,
where i eat of natures beauty and her innate harmony of purpose...
like bacon and eggs and I soak up the yolk of faith with the bread of my soul...
satiated by the songs of simple birds,
feeding and jostling for position on a plain mesh sock
unperturbed by the dog or the screeching world of pain swirling around man's madness.
dog sniffs out her new world and the leftover footprints of a cats midnight crossing...and dreams.....
a cacophany of morning,
opinions and angst and war and terror scream from the screen
while peace and harmony and natures beauty are dished up by God
as close as my front porch swing.....
and I choose wisely to sit and partake.
